"One of the forgotten bands
of its time. The Fireworks Factory"

- NME - 1987

The Fireworks Factory formed in late 1984, in

Dublin Ireland.  Vocals Gerry Fhiely.

The Fireworks Factory were formed from the ashes of Ambition in Glass, who in 1982 release a 12" single on Rough Trade Records, tracks included When Allison When & And It Rains, produced by Colin Richardson
(The Chameleons).

The Firework's had a broad range of influences from The Cure, Joy Division, The Sisters, to Echo and The Bunnymen who many would say sounded alike.

The Firework's released five Demo tapes, toured all over UK and supported many big name bands of its time. like Thompson Twins., Everything but the GirlAztec Camera, Deacon BlueBlue in Heaven, Light a Big Fire to

name a few.

The band enjoyed much Radio Airplay in Ireland on Capital Radio and RTE's Dave Fanning show.

In 1986 The band recorded a three track Demo Under Glass which was produced by Paul Thomas (Engineer on U2's Boy Album) and Jacknife Lee (who now produces REM, The Killers and U2).

In 1987 the band nearly signed to EMI Records, but after some Re recordings with EMI in London, nothing was released and no deal was signed, the band split up in early 1988 and left some wonderful music behind them, but now where back "Alive N' Kicking".
